Hi James, thanks for taking the time to share this, and I'm sorry the delivery side didn't match the quality of the terrain.
At the time of your order, international shipments went out duties-unpaid, as outlined in our shipping policy. That meant import duties and the carrier's brokerage fees were billed by UPS on arrival rather than at checkout. It's a common setup for cross-border orders, but we know a surprise bill at the door is never a good experience.
That's exactly why we've since moved to duties-included checkout for international customers. Taxes, duties and brokerage are now calculated and paid up front, so the price you see at checkout is the final price, with nothing extra to pay at your door.
It's also fixed the transit time issue. Because duties are now prepaid, parcels no longer sit waiting at the border to be assessed, and cross-border delivery times have improved dramatically as a result.
If you have any questions about your order, our team is always happy to help!
Thanks again for supporting MiniForge.
Sean
